Google is stepping further into the financial services landscape with a new initiative designed to make international money transfers more transparent and accessible, reports Finextra. The tech giant is partnering with Wise, Ria Money Transfer, and Xe to pilot a remittance feature directly within Google Wallet and Google Search.

Currently being tested with U.S. users, the service focuses on popular remittance routes such as USD to INR, PHP, MXN, and BRL. With this integration, individuals searching for money transfer options will be able to compare providers in real time and send funds quickly through Google’s platform.

For millions of people and businesses that rely on cross-border payments, the move could help reduce friction and improve trust. Lauren Langbridge, Commercial Director at Wise Platform, highlighted that remittances are a “routine necessity” and emphasized the importance of giving consumers the ability to make informed choices.

Similarly, Juan Bianchi, CEO of Ria and Xe’s parent company Euronet, pointed out the transformative potential of Google’s reach: “Through their vast audience, we can make money transfer services accessible to millions who may never have tried them before.”

In addition to remittances, Google is broadening its fintech ecosystem by expanding credit card reward visibility in Chrome autofill and integrating more Buy Now, Pay Later options from providers like Affirm, Zip, Klarna, and Afterpay.

The move signals Google’s ambition to become more than just a tech company—it aims to be a trusted financial services gateway for the global digital economy.
