Wix, a global software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, has formed a partnership with the payment processing platform Stripe to introduce Tap to Pay functionality on Android devices, reports FINTECH Global. This collaboration is part of Wix's broader initiative to simplify in-person commerce for merchants based in the United States.
With this update, Wix merchants will now have the ability to securely accept contactless payments directly from their Android devices, eliminating the need for additional hardware. This development follows Wix's recent release of Tap to Pay for Apple's iPhone products.
The Wix Owner App can convert any compatible Android device into a POS terminal. Leveraging Wix's advanced and secure POS software, merchants can engage in in-person transactions anywhere and at any time, delivering a hassle-free, contactless checkout experience to their customers. Users have the option to utilize credit cards, debit cards, Google Pay, and other digital wallets to confidently and effortlessly complete their purchases.
John Affaki, Terminal Business Lead at Stripe, expressed, "Stripe's Tap to Pay on Android product has facilitated contactless payments for countless businesses worldwide. We are thrilled to collaborate with Wix to offer this simple, cost-effective, and no-code solution for accepting payments, empowering even more entrepreneurs."
Tap to Pay on Android is now accessible on compatible devices for Wix Payments merchants based in the United States who utilize Wix for eCommerce, bookings, and event solutions.
